How It Works
This is a high-level technical document describing how the system works. Each of the numbered steps is described in detail below.
- As an example, lets say that a woman wishes to purchase an ambigram ring in a jewelry store. She sits
down with a sales person and looks at the ring options. She select a ring,
and the sales person pulls up a web page to help create the ambigram design.
The sales person types in the two names the customer provides and clicks "Search".
The request is sent to the Glyphusion ambigram server and since the ambigram request
carries with it the unique location of the request, the server is aware of where
the request is coming from and knows that it is from a legitimate licensee.
The request is normal HTTP, so it easily goes through the company firewall without security issues and
is received by the Glyphusion server.
- The Glyphusion server analyzes the request and finds the best way of creating an
ambigram from the two names (or words) provided. If there are multiple suitable
solutions, the user is allowed to select their favorite. Often times, the
user can see a "preview" of how their design will look directly on the
item they have chosen.
- The customer selects her favorite design, purchases the ring, and the store lets her know that she can pick up her
ring in about an hour.
- At the exact moment the customer purchases the ring, the Glyphusion server creates a finalized
version of her ambigram in a format suitable for the manufacturer's machining equipment, and
sends that so the product can be personalized. This final design is usually a vector file
that is immediately usable by the licensee without conversion.
- The client's hardware then embroiders the design onto a hat or clothing, etches the
design onto a custom ring, bracelet or necklace, or prints the design as a tattoo
template. The design can also be direct-transferred onto household products (cozies, coffee mugs, pens,
etc.) as the licensees business model dictates. The customer picks up their finished product
once it is ready.
Of course, this works equally well with Internet based businesses, too.
